Mumbai, November
3, 2004: Prashant Narula,
an executive from Navi Mumbai, winner of the JetElite
Surprizes, an in-flight promotion from Jet Airways
in association with General Motors, received the
keys of a Chevrolet Tavera, The Comfortable Family
Car, from Ashutosh Dixit, Regional Sales Manager
(West) of General Motors India on Monday.
Narula won the new-generation premium multi-utility
vehicle (MUV) in a month long contest in June
organized in association with Jet Airways that
for the first time offered passengers an opportunity
to win a car as a prize in an in-flight promotion.
As part of the contest an insert in the in-flight
seat pockets showcased the new car and its features
along with a profile form. An interested passenger
had to fill up the profile, answer two simple
questions on the Tavera and enter a lucky draw
to win a brand new Tavera.
GM India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General
Motors Corporation. Besides the Chevrolet Tavera
and Optra, GM India manufactures the Opel Corsa,
Corsa Sail and Swing at its facility in Halol,
Gujarat. GM India also sells the imported Opel
Vectra in addition to the Chevrolet Forester.
